Treating Hyperhidrosis

Also known as hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating from the underarms is a frustrating issue for many people. Classic hyperhidrosis is characterised by profuse sweating even when you’re not feeling cold or anxious, it could occur at random at any time of day or night! Unlike normal perspiration, which is produced when the body is hot, hyperhidrosis is characterised by the excessive production of sweat, even when the body is cool.

Hyperhidrosis injections block the sweat gland signals and help providing long-lasting dry and comfortable relief. Surrounding muscles and contours remain unaffected creating uninhibited movement and freedom. Despite common belief, sweat is not transferred to another gland, creating further problems. The over-producing gland is simply stopped.

Common Questions

How do Hyperhidrosis Injections work?

Hyperhidrosis Injections utilise the same active ingredient used for Anti-Wrinkle Injections. Affected regions of the underarms are isolated and targeted for dramatic and instant results.

How long will it take to treat the underarms for excessive sweating?

Not including the consultation and assessment provided to you by our friendly nurses, treatments to this area may be performed in approximately 30-45 minutes.

Is treatment suitable for all gender identities?

Hyperhidrosis affects all genders, and while hormones and hormonal imbalances can contribute to abnormal sweating conditions, hyperhidrosis treatment using toxins are a widely suitable solution for the management of this issue.

Are underarm sweating treatments painful?

Your treating nurses here at ECC will always have your comfort in mind, and will apply topical numbing cream prior to performing the injectable treatment.

Can toxin treatments be used to stop sweating from other areas of the body?

The most common area affected by primary hyperhidrosis is the axilla (underarms), however many of our clients do complain of excessive sweating in other areas, such as the palms of their hands and soles of the feet. While this treatment modality is effective for managing other areas, individual assessment is required to ensure suitability for these areas.

Will I have to keep having hyperhidrosis treatments once I start?

Not at all; the beauty of these treatments is that you can enjoy one treatment, then opt to not repeat the treatment ever again, with no harm or long-term changes.

Ideally, to manage the condition long-term, we recommend re-treating approximately 4-6 months after initial treatment, and then look to only schedule 'maintenance' treatments, once every 12-18 months, as treatment longevity tends to improve with each treatment.
