What are the benefits of skin needling?
Skin needling is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates a process called collagen induction therapy. This may help improve the appearance of acne scarring, enlarged/open pores, fine lines and wrinkles, overall texture, scars following trauma or surgery and Striae (stretch marks) on all areas of the body.
Is the skin needling treatment painful?
The first step in the skin needling process after your comprehensive consultation, is to prepare your skin and ensure comfort cream is applied to ensure your treatment is pleasant and pain-free. Clients describe feeling a 'sunburn' sensation and mildly tender straight after the treatment, however your practitioner will provide you with topical products and appropriate aftercare instructions to ensure the healing process is as comfortable as possible.
How does skin needling work?
A single-use, sterile needle head is attached to the device tip, which houses fourteen tiny sterile needles. Your clinic adjusts the depth to which these tiny needles penetrate the skin, depending on the desired treatment outcome, and then the device is passed over the skin, causing thousands of tiny sterile punctures to the skin surface. These tiny punctures are enough to trigger the inflammatory cascade, a natural response to external trauma, which then leads to the remodelling, rebuilding and restructuring of the cells of your skin. This means rebuilding the skin surface-but in a more perfected, smooth and healthy way!
